ADVANCED WEEKEND COURSE
Deep Tissue Massage Training
Build deeper pressure skills safely using precision and body weight. Ideal for working with tension in common problem areas like shoulders, back, and neck.
Course Overview
Work Deeper, Work Smarter
Deep tissue massage goes beyond surface relaxation to address chronic muscular tension and adhesions. This course teaches you how to apply sustained pressure safely—using body mechanics rather than force—to release tension in deeper muscle layers.
You’ll learn to read the body, identify areas of restriction, and communicate with clients about pressure and feedback. These skills are essential for anyone working with clients who have desk jobs, athletic backgrounds, or chronic tension patterns.
Our approach prioritises therapist longevity. You’ll develop techniques that protect your hands, wrists, and back while delivering effective treatments.
Prerequisites
This course is suitable for those with prior massage training or hands-on experience. If you’re new to massage, we recommend completing our Relaxing Massage Training first.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience?
You should have prior hands-on massage training or professional experience. This could be our Relaxing Massage course, another massage qualification, or equivalent practical experience. If you’re unsure whether your background is suitable, get in touch and we’ll advise.
Is deep tissue massage physically demanding?
It can be if done incorrectly. A key focus of this course is teaching you to use body weight and positioning rather than muscular force. This protects your hands, wrists, and back—and actually produces better results for clients. You should be comfortable standing and moving for extended periods.
What's the difference between deep tissue and sports massage?
Deep tissue focuses on releasing chronic tension and adhesions in deeper muscle layers, often working slowly and precisely. Sports massage typically involves faster techniques and is focused on athletic performance, warm-up, and recovery. There’s overlap, but the intent and pace differ. This course focuses on deep tissue principles.
What should I bring?
Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in. We provide massage tables, oils, and towels. You may want to bring a notebook, water bottle, and any forearm/elbow supports if you already use them.
Can I combine this with the Relaxing Massage course?
Yes—many students complete the Relaxing Massage Training first, then return for Deep Tissue. We occasionally offer back-to-back weekends for both courses. Contact us if you’re interested in a combined package.
What is your cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel more than 14 days before the course. 50% refund for cancellations 7–14 days before. No refund for cancellations less than 7 days before the start date. You may transfer your booking to another person at any time.
